Dell Originally released Drivers for Windows XP and Windows Vista for Dell Inspiron 6400, if you look on the dell ftp site, this model named as Dell Inspiron 6400x. Since windows 7 the most stable operating system, I re-make the list by adding Windows 7 drivers to the list.
Compatibility

Driver version is available on the readme or info file on each driver pack. You can know the file name by looking at the Download Link URL. example for the chipset windows xp the download link is http://ftp.dell.com/chipset/R114079.EXE , so the file name is R114079.EXE
